Hotel Taito is a place where many photographers and nature lovers come to stay. The hotel’s owner is a professional photographer and nature guide himself, and he has spent many years capturing the beautiful nature of Tsurui and the rest of Hokkaido. Though he is not always at the hotel, when he is around, he can take guests on nature tours to see the seasonal scenery of Tsurui. From April to October, he also holds tours to see the magnificent landscapes inside the special protection zones of the Kushiro Marsh, which can only be visited by going with a guide who has obtained special permission.

Relax in European-style rooms

The hotel has an exterior reminiscent of European country houses, and an interior with a warm, wooden atmosphere. Some guest rooms include a loft area, and guests can make use of convenient amenities like a laundromat, making it a great place for a long stay.

Bathe in a moisturizing hot spring

Hotel Taito has an onsen that flows with alkaline hot spring waters. This type of hot spring is known for its moisturizing effect on the skin. There is also an open-air bath.

Enjoy local food in the restaurant

The hotel also has a restaurant that welcomes both lodging and non-lodging guests. They serve various dishes made with local ingredients such as “spakatsu”, a local Kushiro dish that features spaghetti topped with pork cutlet. The owner also likes to serve his own recipe of cheese fondue.
